Founded in 1948. Uniandes has always been aiming at achieving excellence; currently is the only Colombian private university with national accreditation for ten years (awarded in 2015).

The facilities include classrooms, laboratories, libraries, a sports center, and other services for students in more than 160,000 m2. Since 2017, we offer modern and comfortable housing two minutes walking distance from the campus.
Uniandes has more than 20,000 students enrolled in undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degree programs. At present, there are more than 730 full-time professors, 72% of which hold doctoral degrees. These professors are engaged into more than 140 research groups categorized/ranked by Colciencias.The University occupied the position 272 in QS World University Rankings and the eighth position in QS Latin American Rankings (2016-2017). Recently, Uniandes was declared as a 4 Stars institution by QS.
The School of Engineering is accredited by ABET and the School of Management has the Triple Accreditation (EQUIIS, AMBA and AACSB). Furthermore, Uniandes has just started the first academic program held completely in English (MSc. in International Finance).
During June and July, professors from international universities participate in Los Andes´s International Summer School. Most of these courses are taught in English. Besides, designing customized courses is also a possibility.
